It’s been more than three months since I posted anything here or on Pink Vagabond Instagram account. Trust me, I didn’t intend to have such a long blogging, cooking, and photographing break (and I missed all those activities greatly) but, life happened.
Back in April, when I shared our exciting news, I thought I had four months until the arrival of our little foodie. Well, our son decided to come earlier, much, much earlier.
Our baby boy arrived at the end of June, two months before his due date. I spent a month before his arrival at the hospital doing everything to postpone his birth. His early arrival also meant he had to stay in NICU and NCU almost until his due date. He had to gain weight, grow to a size of a standard newborn, and learn how to thrive in the outside world. He did great! In two months time, he got stronger, doubled his weight, learned to breathe, eat, and regulate his body temperature all on his own.
He made us incredibly proud and happy every single day since he was born.
So, I’ve been a mama for little over two months, and we brought our newborn son home just last week. Our hearts are overflowing with love and gratitude and our days are full of cuddles, kisses, and diapers 😉
We are still adjusting to life with a newborn, transforming from a duo into a trio. We already have big plans for showing him the world, places close and far, but at the moment we are soaking it all in, trying to remember and enjoy every little moment.
So, guys, this little fella is the reason I disappeared from here for so long. I’m sure there’s no better reason to spend some time offline, than a tiny, cute newborn 😉
So, does blogging still have a place in my life or is this thing over?
I most certainly plan to continue to post recipes, travel recaps, book recommendations, etc. But making plans with a baby is laughable, at best. So we’ll see how often I’ll have a chance and desire to cook, photograph, write, and publish stuff.
Pink Vagabond is my creative outlet, my experiment, and a way to stretch myself in new directions, to learn, and document parts of my life. And I plan to continue to do those things.
Will the blog change?
I would expect so.
Now, that the baby is part of my life, my focus, priorities, and circumstances are changing. It’s only natural that the blog will reflect that. I don’t plan to transform this blog into a baby-focused space, but I’ll post baby related stuff from time to time. Also, I’m sure my recipes, travel, and ideas I share here, will be influenced by the fact that I’m a mama now. Having a new perspective on life will lead to a new type of posts, I’m sure about that.
I look forward to that change and hope you’ll enjoy it with me.
I have a few half-written posts from before the baby, plus some new ideas in mind. So, see you soon friends!
