Brussels Notes: L’Atelier en ville

Brussels Notes: L’Atelier en ville

Recently my friend took me to one of her favorite cafes, L’atelier en ville. I could see right away why she likes the place. You can find L’atelier en ville in the neighborhood called Sablon which is within the Brussels city center pentagon and it’s less than 15 minutes from Grand Place.

It’s actually a design shop with café space. They sell furniture, pictures, clothes etc. I think it is a really great concept to combine a design store with a café. It’s a nice way how to show your products and let people see them in use. Maybe they are then more inclined to buy something.

The place is nice and stylish. It has a small atrium with tables at the back and they serve good coffee, homemade cakes, and bagels among other things.

I don’t know if we were just lucky or if it’s common there but there were just a few other people at the time of our visit. But I think that even with many people it wouldn’t feel crowded. The place is spacious and airy, there are high ceilings and the tables are huge and not crammed together. They respect an aesthetic display they use for their design pieces also in the café part. L’atelier en ville is definitely a place I’ll visit again.

Few photos from our visit …
