Even though it’s officially still summer, it doesn’t feel like it. In Brussels, it’s already time to pack away summer clothes. There’s no use for shorts, flip-flops or light summer dress anymore. It’s time to dig out the sweaters, waterproof jackets, and scarves from the back of the closet. Soon there will be pumpkin spice latte on the menu and holiday decorations in the shops.
While I’m sad the summer is over and we can expect more rain, stronger wind, and lower temps, I’m looking forward to more cooking at home. In the summer I prefer fresh produce and salads are my lunch and dinner favorites. It’s when I stuff myself with berries, nectarines, and cantaloupe. The fall is a start of more activity in our kitchen, more serious cooking and baking will be happening.
The fall is a start of more activity in our kitchen, more serious cooking and baking will be happening. We have our favorites which we prepare quite often and at this point without following a recipe, confidently changing an ingredient or two without a fear of failure. But we are also on the look for new recipes and future favorites. We love a good kitchen experiment, and even more a successful result.
Today I would like to share with you some of our favorite recipes, some of which I shared on the blog. But I also listed recipes we tried once or twice and plan to add to our rotation, as well as recipes I have seen on other blogs but haven’t tried yet.
